KENDRICK D. HARRIS Kendrick Harris has over 16 years experience managing the implementation of strategic management plans, modernization and automation programs, facilitating the introduction of new customer services, and negotiating and collaborating with various government agencies.        Kendrick is currently an attorney with the firm Bryant Rabbino (formerly Bryant Burgher Jaffe) LLP, the largest minority owned transactional law firm in the country, where he focuses his practice on complex commercial real estate transactions.        Prior to joining Bryant Burgher Jaffe Kendrick served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New York.  Kendrick assisted the Office of the Attorney General with the investigation and litigation of and security cases under the Martin Act.   In addition, Kendrick was involved with the registration and enforcement brokers, dealers, securities salespersons and investment advisers including the registration of franchisors and enforcement of the Franchise Law to protect franchisees.        Previously, Kendrick served the office in the Real Estate Finance Bureau where he assisted in the review of all offering plans for the offer and sale of real estate securities in or from the State of New York, including interests in cooperatives, condominiums, homeowners associations and timeshares, to ensure that they provide disclosure of all material terms of the offer       Prior to joining the Attorney General's Office Kendrick served as the Business Development Manager for TDX Construction in which he lead its management of the School Construction Authority’s Mentor Program for minority, women and local owned construction firms.  Kendrick directed all operations for the $50 million program, mentoring business with operations throughout New York City.          Prior to joining TDX, Kendrick served as Vice President of The Harris Holding Group LLC (The Harris Group).  The Harris Group is a real estate holding company that owns three companies – MH & Sons Construction, Harris and Sons CM, and Harris Development based in New York City. Kendrick joined his family’s firm to stabilize its financial positioning following the health complications of his father and company founder.  Kendrick directed all operations of the $1.3 million construction and real estate business with operations throughout New York City.  He provided leadership for a 12-person workforce and held full P&L responsibility, overseeing all finances, business development, marketing, production, human resources, and administrative affairs.       Before serving as the Business Development Manager for TDX, Kendrick served as Director of Operations of the Tax Incentive Programs (TIP) division at New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD). As the TIP Director of Operations, Kendrick served as the primary manager for all office administrative, operational and resource functions. Kendrick was responsible for administering several of the cities most utilized and visible tax programs.  He was responsible for implementing the division’s strategic management plan and managing the modernization and automation program, which reduced the organizations processing time by 30%.         Before joining HPD, Kendrick served four years on active duty as an officer in the United States Air Force.  He served as the Deputy Branch Chief of Program Plans and Integration at the Electronic Systems Center Hanscom Air Force Base, MA.  From July 2002 to June 2005 he served as the Deputy Chief of the Global Advanced Development and Technology integrated product team.  In each capacity, Kendrick was recognized for outstanding performance earning an Air Force Commendation Medal and numerous other awards for superior service including winning the NAACP’s Roy Wilkins Award for military service in 2003.         Kendrick is a graduate of Franklin Military High School in Richmond, Virginia, the first public military high school in the country.  Upon graduation he entered the construction industry as a laborer, advancing to become a superintendent all while earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Real Estate Development at New York University. In 2001 he earned his degree and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force where he served in several capacities. While on active duty in the Air Force, Kendrick earned his Masters degree in Government from Harvard University. Kendrick is currently a Captain in the United States Air Force Reserves.    Kendrick is also a graduate of Hofstra University School of Law, where he graduated with a distinction in Real Estate.  After completing law school, Kendrick attended Columbia University earring a Masters Degree in Real Estate.    Kendrick is a tenacious and dedicated mentor.  Having been a mentor and youth program coordinator for more than 18 years, Kendrick has taken great pride in shaping the lives of young men.  He currently serves as Co-Chairs the Mentor Committee of the One Hundred Black Men of New York.  Beginning as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York, Kendrick learned early the reward of shaping the lives of young men.  While pursuing his bachelor degree at NYU, he went on to found the Stuyvesant Youth Society (SYS).  Through this program he provided leadership development workshops and Kaplan SAT prep assistance to 12 Washington Irving High School students.        Kendrick is also a frequent speaker and lecturer to high schools, colleges (i.e. Manhattan College, University of Connecticut, Dorchester High School, Park East High School), and other institutions, public and private.  He speaks on topics such as leadership, military history, and career planning.  In addition to his membership in the One Hundred Black Men of New York City he is a member of the Tuskegee Airmen Inc., NAACP, National Urban League, Urban Land Institute and Rotary International and is an affiliate member in a host of other organizations.  His favorite pastimes are reading, chess, golf and weight lifting.
